June 21st is National ASK Day.

In preparation, I will be at the Square One Mall on Saturday, June 19th from 11-4. Please stop by and show support for this very important event... We are encouraging parents and/or guardians to ASK if there is a gun in the home where your child may be playing. Our children are our most precious assets and it is our responsibility to protect them. Hope to see you then!

As part of National Safe Schools Week http://www.safeschoolsweek.org Ann Marie spoke at the Belmonte Middle School in Saugus on the 23^rd of October, 2008  

Ann Marie Crowell of Mother on a Mission, Inc. and Saugus Police Officer Mike Stewart appeared at Square One Mall in Saugus on Saturday, June 21st from 12:00PM to 2:00PM to educate shoppers about National ASK Day.

PAX ASK Day is a national day of focus on the lifesaving message of the ASK (Asking Saves Kids) campaign. ASK Day is June 21, 2008, the first day of summer, a time of year when children play more often in other homes. The ASK campaign simply urges parents to ASK if there is a gun in the home before sending your child over to play.

Ann Marie is the mother of Brian Crowell who was accidentally shot and killed on Christmas Eve in 1997, while playing at a friend's house in Saugus. He was 12 years old. After Brian's tragic death, she began speaking at several schools, community groups, press conferences, and gun violence organizations, with the sole mission of spreading the message of the importance of gun safety in the home. In October 2006, she was the recipient of the annual Citizen Safety Award for her efforts in gun safety from the Massachusetts Safety Officers League. She recently started the non-profit organization Mother on a Mission, Inc. to ensure that her message is heard and that Brian's spirit remains alive.
